The company ensures children have access to necessary care amidst health and safety concerns posed by COVID-19

March 18, 2020 (DENVER, Colo.) – Last week, Solace Pediatric Home Healthcare announced they will begin providing therapy services via virtual telemedicine (also known as telehealth and teletherapy) in response to precautionary guidelines released by the CDC due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Solace is one of the first pediatric home healthcare providers to offer this service and is ensuring that there are no gaps in care during this time of isolation.

As schools close and work-from-home policies set in, many children’s normal treatment routines will be interrupted. Telemedicine allows Solace’s clinicians to treat their patients via live-video rather than in-person, giving families the same, top-notch level of care without putting the children, families and clinicians at risk. Clinicians will continue their usual treatments and evaluations providing services such as physical, occupational, speech, and feeding therapy.

“We understand the importance of closing our schools to help slow down the spread of COVID-19 and to further protect our communities and children,” said Solace’s CEO Darcie Peacock. “We also understand the enormous impact this may have on some of the children receiving school-based therapy services and how this extended break may affect  gains and progress made.”

In efforts to ensure that telemedicine is an option for all families, Solace’s is working with families to overcome barriers by providing loaner tablets with cellular internet access as needed.

By focusing on the latest innovations, a high standard of care and their passion for community involvement and responsibility, Solace is helping give families a sense of stability and ease in a time of utmost uncertainty.
