As part of our green initiative and in concert with our core values of progressiveness and efficiency, Solace Pediatric Home Healthcare is proud to announce its partnership with PrintReleaf. PrintReleaf allows us to offset our paper usage and contribute to global sustainability and reforestation efforts. According to their website, PrintReleaf has designed and built the world’s first platform to automate global reforestation for paper-based products. We are able to select where to reforest our paper consumption through PrintReleaf Certified™ Global Reforestation Projects. Recent data published by the World Resources Institute indicates we are currently losing forests at a rate of about a soccer field every 1.2 seconds when comparing the rates of global reforestation versus deforestation.

There are 7 total PrintReleaf Certified™ Global Reforestation Projects located in Brazil, Dominican Republic, India, Ireland, Madagascar, Mexico and the United States. Solace Pediatric Home Healthcare has chosen to support the reforestation efforts of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation which is an Oglala Lakota Native American Reservation, located in South Dakota, and is the eighth-largest reservation in the United States, larger than Delaware and Rhode Island combined. Some of the project goals include creating a sustainable reforestation program on the Pine Ridge Reservation including training local Native Americans to plant and care for the tree seedlings as well as reforesting wildlife habitat areas in an effort to jump start the return.

A standard tree is equal to 8,333 sheets of standard 8.5” x 11” U.S. letter paper. PrintReleaf automatically measures the paper consumption of our offices and as of September 7, we have reforested 5.86 trees! Solace Pediatric Home Healthcare is proud to be a green company; our field staff uses iPads to reduce paper consumption and we are even working to transition our gasoline-powered fleet vehicles to all-electric vehicles, even further reducing our carbon footprint.
