Solace Pediatric Home Care Community Outreach Event
Solace Pediatric Home Care 2nd Wednesday Central Aurora Clinical Team, Better Together hosted an event at Great Plains Splash Pad on 8/11/18. The event originally was created to provide a safe place for families to cool off without the stigma of not being able to swim due to there being no pool at this facility. The goal was to get kids to play outside, as well as provide healthy snacks for kids and their families. The event was drastically changed with assistance from Mark with Bread of Life Community Outreach. Mark brought a semi truck full of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as eggs snacks and cheeses. Although this was a Solace event, we were able to broaden the impact by sharing the food with the entire park! Hundreds of individuals were provided with healthy foods and snacks, and also Solace coloring books. We are so thankful that our event was able to reach beyond the Solace community, and we were able to help on a larger scale. Thank you so much to Mark with Bread of life, as well as the team members in Better Together for helping this event run so smoothly! Special thank you to Amber Medina, as she connected our group with Mark!
