Private Duty Nursing (PDN) is very unique, bringing registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) into the homes of patients who have chronic long term conditions and meet specific criteria for medical necessity. PDN is skilled nursing care at home, in school and anywhere in the community for children who need individualized, continuous care. PDN is not intended to replace a parent as the primary caregiver or to provide all the care required for your child. The purpose of PDN is to support the care of a child living at home to give parents the time to work, sleep and other daily activities.

Compassionate Care Provided by Skilled Nurses

Medically fragile children with chronic health conditions, who would otherwise require ICU level hospitalization or long-term care in a facility, can be cared for in the comfort of their own home by highly-skilled nurses, therapists and parent certified nursing assistants (CNA). This allows families to stay together and the child to be part of the family, as well as receive the high level of care needed. Our pediatric team is essential in helping to:

  • Decrease hospitalizations
  • Provide highest level of specialized nursing care
  • Assist in acquiring and utilizing the  latest high tech & state of the art medical equipment & systems
  • Coordinating and optimizing care; while educating families
  • Help all caregivers become comfortable with in-home care; as well as learn to  include child in family’s daily life·

Our highly-skilled and accredited nurses are licensed professionals who have gone through training designed specifically to meet the needs of our children. They are a crucial part of the coordination of care with primary providers, specialty care providers and other services to deliver impactful comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, individualized care.
