The Giving Solace Fund is partnering with LuBird’s Light to build the first completely accessible playground in Denver. Please help us spread awareness and watch for more details on how you can become involved. To view the recent feature on CBS Denver, Click Here.

From the LuBird’s Foundation website:

“There are over 74,000 kids with disabilities in Colorado and most playgrounds do not give these children an opportunity to experience the fun and joy of being outdoors with their peers. With our support, LuBird’s Light Foundation will build extraordinary, one of a kind inclusive playgrounds for children and families of all needs and enhance existing playgrounds throughout the Metro area.”

Unlike other major cities, Denver does not offer a playground for all children to play together. Play is critical to the healthy growth and development of children starting at a young age. Children learn to problem solve, get along with others and develop fine and gross motor skills needed to grow and learn through play. Language skills are also developed as children interact with others. When all are welcomed and included, a playground can be the perfect setting to develop these important skills.

LuBird’s Playground in Aurora will be the first inclusive playground in Denver and Aurora!

We will build our first playground at Stanley Marketplace on approximately 9,000 square feet of outdoor space generously donated by the city of Aurora and Stanley Marketplace. Our playground will include state-of-the-art handicapped accessible swings, spinners and slides, musical sensory play equipment, smooth barrier-free surfacing and more—all with a magical vibrant design. Stanley Marketplace features over 50 Colorado businesses, including restaurants, shops and activities for all ages. We selected this location because of the community-focused mission of Stanley Marketplace, its proximity to Denver Metro’s pediatric hospitals, and its location between two diverse neighborhoods.”

Solace Pediatric Home Healthcare is proud to support our local community and help create accessible playgrounds throughout Denver. For more information on how you can help, please visit the LuBird’s Light Foundation website.
